Black Pepper Beef

This is my take on a dish served at one of my favorite Sushi restaurants.

Ingredients


  1. 2 tsp black pepper
  2. 1 lb Beef (cut into 1/2 inch cubes)
  3. 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  4. 1 tbsp Sake
  5. 2 tsp cornstarch
  6. 1 tbsp sesame oil
  7. 3 clove garlic cloves (diced fine)
  8. 1 medium onion, chopped
  9. 1 medium green pepper
  10. 1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil

Steps


  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl, and mix well. Let marinade for 1 hour, mixing occasionally.

  2. Add another 2 tbs of oil to a wok or skillet, turn to high heat and wait for the oil to just start to smoke.

     
     
  3. Add the meat mixture to skillet and stir-fry until the meat is cooked and browned. Turn skillet to low heat and simmer for another 5 minutes to let the sauce thicken. Serve with rice or egg noodles.
